Michael is the Digital Fundraising Manager for Bernie 2016 and a Senior Campaign Strategist at Revolution Messaging. Michael previously worked at Change.org, where he lead the team responsible for email campaigning in the United States. He also lead the team running the campaign started by Trayvon Martin’s parents calling for the arrest of their son’s killer. Michael previously worked with progressive political blog Firedoglake, leading campaigning around whistleblower advocacy, workers’ rights and safety, and marijuana legalization. He came up through the labor movement at SEIU and the workers’ rights nonprofit American Rights at Work. Michael got his start in online organizing as the co-founder of Generation Dean, Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign’s young voter organizing effort. Michael has a degree in documentary photography and political science from American University.
Digital Director, Hillary for America
Jenna Lowenstein is the Digital Director at Hillary for America, where she leads the team that is using technology, design, video, email, and other content to help elect the first female president of the United States. Prior to joining the campaign, Jenna served as VP of Digital at EMILY’s List, Deputy Digital Director for the Democratic National Committee, and Deputy Digital Director for Terry McAuliffe’s successful campaign for governor of Virginia. She also held six or seven hundred different jobs at the social good start-up Change.org, where she helped grow a community of more than fifty million people worldwide who want to see change — and then connect them with the tools they need to make that change happen.
Director of Digital Strategies, AFL-CIO
Nicole is the Director of Digital Strategies at the AFL-CIO. She was previously the Online Organising Manager at the Sunlight Foundation. Nicole managed development and implementation of online tools used by Organizing for America field staff and volunteers, including Neighbor to Neighbor and My.BarackObama.com. She held a range of roles with Obama for America coordinating volunteers, and training staff. Nicole also managed and prepared slates of potential nominees for legal positions in the Obama Administration as part of the Presidential Transition.
VP Analytics, Global Strategy Group
Emily has worked at the intersection of communications, digital, research, and analytics for nearly 10 years. In her role at GSG, she is part of a team that leverages new techniques in predictive modeling, data science, and analytics. Emily’s experience includes traditional consulting in corporate environments, electoral politics and data science. She started off her career working at McKinsey & Company specializing in consumer insights and predictive modeling. In 2010, she took that experience to the Democratic National Committee where she oversaw analytics and polling for all targeted races in the west and southwest regions. She left the DNC only to become a founding member of Obama’s 2012 analytics team heading national constituency analytics and finishing the cycle as the Data Director in Colorado. Following the election, she took on the role of Data and Analytics Director for KIPP, a charter school network. Emily recently completed a Masters of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, while simultaneously consulting on a variety of analytics projects for clients, including the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, Oscar Health, EMILY’s List, the AFL-CIO, and Hillary for America. She received her B.S. in mathematics from Bryn Mawr College.
